Charles Beard, formerly a senior vice president and general manager at Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAI), has joined the advisory practice of PwC US as a principal.

He will focus on providing cybersecurity-related consulting services to clients in his new role, PwC said Wednesday.

Beard previously led SAIC’s cybersecurity group, which provides risk analysis, threat operations, incident response and server technologies to government and commercial customers.

While serving as SAIC’s chief information officer, he was responsible for modernizing the company’s technology infrastructure and improving its cyber posture.

“Charles brings extensive experience in the areas of cybersecurity, technology and consulting to PwC, ” said David Burg, a principal in PwC US’ advisory practice focused on cybercrime.

“He will be an important member of the team as we work with clients to confront the ongoing challenges of conducting business in a world that relies on technology to drive innovation, ” Burg added.

Beard also represented SAIC before the Defense Industrial Base Critical Infrastructure Partnership Advisory Council and was responsible for helping promote cybersecurity information sharing between government and industry, PwC said.

Prior to SAIC, Beard served as a director in the Oliver Wyman division of professional services firm Marsh & McLennan.
