General Dynamics Subsidiary to Mainain Nuclear Subs on $164M Contract

GDlogoA General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) subsidiary has won a $20 million contract modification to continue helping the U.S. Navy maintain and upgrade nuclear submarines.

General Dynamics Electric Boat will provide management, planning, training and nuclear services to the Nuclear Regional Maintenance Department at the Naval Submarine Base in Groton, Conn., the company said Monday.

This work is part of a five-year contract potentially worth $164 million, from which the subsidiary has already won $25 million.

Electric Boat will deploy 25 employees to the NRMD and a surge group of 100 shipyard employees to work at the site for a short period.

The subsidiary also holds an $881 million contract with the Navy to perform lead-yard work on nuclear-powered attack submarines.
