Abt Associates Buys Health, Social Sector Consultant; Kathleen Flanagan Comments

abt-logoAbt Associates has acquired health and social sector consulting firm JTA International for an undisclosed amount, aiming to grow Abt’s client base in the international health and development markets.

Brisbane, Australia-based JTA will be renamed Abt JTA and operate as a subsidiary, Abt said Wednesday.

JTA founder Jane Thomason will continue leading the subsidiary as CEO and Jay Knott, Abt’s executive vice president for global business, will lead the integration of the companies and

“Abt Associates and JTA International have complementary portfolios, values and mission-driven organizational cultures, ” said Kathleen Flanagan, Abt president and CEO.

Subsidiary employees will continue to work on their current projects and both companies will pursue opportunities for joint bidding, Abt said.

Abt works in more than 70 countries on research and program implementation in health, social and environmental policy and international development.
