ATK Wins $78M for Navy ARGM Missile

ATK (NYSE: ATK) will conduct full-rate production of the Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missile for the U.S. Navy under a $78 million contract, the company announced Thursday.

The company will produce the missiles for both the U.S. and Italy and provide training systems for the U.S. Navy along with supplies ad services necessary for manufacturing, sparing and fleet deployment.

FA-18C/D Hornet aircraft use the missiles and the Navy is integrating the missiles onto its EA-18G Growler and FA-18 E/F Super Hornet aircraft.

Italy is integrating the missile onto its Tornado ECR aircraft.

AARGM’s multi-sensor system includes a millimeter wave terminal seeker,   anti-radiation homing receiver and a GPS an intertial navigation system.

The company and L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) each hold separate $125 million contracts to work with the Air Force on the branch’s sounding rocket system.
