SAIC’s Jim Thigpen Comments On $500M Navy Net Equipment IDIQ

SAIC Inc. (NYSE: SAI) holds a prime position on a potential $500 million contract to provide commercial off-the-shelf equipment for networks and communications to the U.S. Navy, the company confirmed Monday.

The company will help manage the supply chain and processes, electronic procurement systems and equipment acquisition and integration, said Jim Thigpen, a senior vice president and business unit general manager.

Work will support the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic, which develops systems for the military and federal agencies to apply in missions involving C5ISR — command, control, communications, computers, combat systems, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance.

SAIC’s multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract has one base year, four one-year options and won it through a competitive process on the FedBizOpps and SPAWAR’s e-commerce websites.
