Northrop Wins $103M For NAVAIR Targeting Pods; Jim Mocarski Comments

Northrop Grumman Corp. (NYSE: NOC) has won a $103 million delivery order from the Naval Air Systems Command for updated targeting systems, the company announced Monday.

The Falls Church, Va. defense and technology contractor will provide its LITENING G4 targeting pods to the U.S. Marine Corps and upgrade kits and spare parts to the Air National Guard.

The pods have recorded nearly 1.5 million flight hours, said Jim Mocarski, a vice president for targeting systems.

Military customers have received more than 200 of the systems, which contain laser imaging and data link technology for identifying targets at long distances.

In April, the company announced it won a potential $480 million engineering and manufacturing contract to upgrade the Air Force’s electronic attack pods.
