Raytheon Wins $45M for New Navy F-18 Radars

Raytheon Co.’s (NYSE: RTN) space and airborne systems unit won a $45, 252, 160 U.S. Navy contract modification to provide a new set of radars for aircraft, the Defense Department announced Wednesday.

Raytheon will install 16 AN/APG-79 Active Electronically Scanned Array radars on F/A-18E/F aircraft, replacing the APG-73 radar.

The Pentagon expects Raytheon to complete work by December 2014.

The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.
