Huntington Ingalls Wins $82M to Refuel Nuclear-Powered Carrier

Huntington Ingalls Industries Inc. has won an $82 million U.S. Navy contract modification to refuel a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, the Defense Department announced Thursday.

The Newport News, Va.-based shipbuilder will also provide repair and modernization services during the overhaul of the USS Theodore Roosevelt.

Work will occur in Newport News, Va., and the Pentagon expect work to finish in February 2013.

The Naval Sea Systems Command in Washington is the contracting activity.

The company finalized its spinoff from Northrop Grumman Corp. (NYSE: NOC) in March 2011.
