Lockheed Appoints F-35 Program VP Larry Lawson to Lead Aeronautics Unit

Lockheed Martin Corp. (NYSE: LMT) appointed Larry Lawson as executive vice president of the company’s aeronautics business area, Lockheed announced Thursday.

The 32-year aerospace veteran is currently vice president and general manager of the company’s F-35 program. He previously held the same positions for the company’s F-22 program.

Lawson has also served as vice president of business development for Lockheed’s electronic mission systems business area.

“We have absolute confidence that, under Larry’s leadership, aeronautics will continue the design, delivery and sustainment of affordable military aircraft and advanced development programs, ” said Bob Stevens, Lockheed chairman and CEO.

Lockheed also announced Ralph Heath, current president of the aeronautics unit, will retire from the company after a 37-year career with Lockheed. The transition is effective April 1.
