General Dynamics Wins $54M for USS California Long-Lead Procurement

The U.S. Navy has awarded General Dynamics‘ (NYSE: GD) Electric Boat subsidiary a $54, 453, 657 contract modification to plan and execute the USS California’s “post shakedown availability, ” the Pentagon announced Friday.

The Pentagon said Electric Boat’s work will include long-lead time material procurement in preparation to accomplish work on the USS California during its post shakedown availability.

Work is expected to be completed by December 2012. The Supervisor of Shipbuilding Conversion and Repair, Groton, Conn., is the contracting activity.
