Cubic to R&D Abrams Gun Shields, Deliver Virtual Trainer to National Guard

Cubic Corp. (NYSE: CUB) has won an $11 million order to provide a virtual small arms training system to the U.S. Army National Guard.

The order includes simulated weapons and subtrainers for the Engagement Skills Trainer 2000.

The company will also research and develop a design mock-up for 77 Loader’s armored gun shields, which fit in the turret hatches of M-1 Abrams battle tanks.

The work is part of a contract modification requested by the Army’s Program Executive Office for Stimulation, Training and Instrumentation.
