ATK (NYSE: ATK) has announced that it will relocate its corporate headquarters to Arlington, Va., as of Oct. 1.
ATK currently employs around 3, 500 workers in the mid-Atlantic region, with facilities in Md., Va. and W. Va.
The company said it will continue to maintain a strong presence in Minn. and keep approximately 210 corporate employees based there. ATK employs approximately 2, 700 people in Minn. in total.
“The relocation of ATK’s headquarters to the Washington D.C. area will provide our company with opportunities for increased engagement with our customers and Congress, as well as with our aerospace and defense industry peers that already are located in the region, ” said Mark W. DeYoung, ATK president and CEO.
“Expanding our presence and visibility in the Washington area will support our strategy of creating a more global, diversified company, ” DeYoung added.
