Raytheon to Develop High-Definition Focal Planes for Army

The U.S. Army has awarded Raytheon‘s (NYSE: RTN) vision systems business an $8, 870, 133 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract.

The company will research and develop high definition focal plane arrays to develop HD formats in the 720p and 1080p formats and lower focal plane costs.

The bid was solicited through the Internet, with three bids received.

Work will be performed in Goleta, Calif., with an estimated completion date of Feb. 4, 2015.    The U.S. Army Contracting Command, Fort Belvoir, Va., is the contracting activity.
