Lockheed Wins $120M to Modernize Aegis Fleet Sensors, Missile Defense, Weapons

The U.S. Navy has awarded Lockheed Martin Mission Systems & Sensors (NYSE: LMT) , Moorestown, N.J., a $118, 646, 449 fixed-price-incentive contract  to help modernize Aegis fleet.

The company will provide:

  • 2 multi-mission signal processor equipment sets
  • 3 ballistic missile defense 4.0.1 equipment sets
  • 5 Aegis weapon system upgraded equipment sets

Lockheed will deliver sets to USS Arleigh Burke, USS John Paul, USS Benfold, USS Barry, USS Princeton, USS Cowpens and USS Gettysburg.

Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.

Work is expected to be completed by September 2013.  This contract was not competitively procured. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington Navy Yard, D.C., is the contracting activity.
