HP Appoints Melinson as VP of Global Gov’t Affairs, Deputy General Counsel

Hewlett-Packard (NYSE: HPQ) has appointed Gregg Melinson as vice president of its global government affairs and deputy general counsel, effective Sept. 19, 2011.

Melinson will report to Michael Holston, executive vice president and general counsel for HP.

Melinson has worked at Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP for close to 20 years, most recently as chief marketing partner, where he led all strategic client development activities.

Previously, he was chair of the government affairs practice group, where he advised clients on the interplay between business and government at all levels.

“Gregg is an excellent leader with deep government affairs expertise, strong business acumen and a proven track record of building successful teams, ” said Holston. “His deep understanding of the complex issues companies encounter at the intersection of business and government will strengthen our ability to provide value across all of HP’s businesses.”
