The U.S. Navy has awarded General Dynamics Electric Boat Corp. (NYSE: GD), Groton, Conn., a $15, 776, 023 contract modification to provide engineering, technical services, concept studies and a design of a common missile compartment for the United Kingdom Successor SSBN and the Ohio replacement SSBN submarine.
Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
Ninety-three percent of the work will be performed in Groton, Conn., and is expected to be completed by December 2011. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.
