CGI to Provide Health Insurance Exchange IT Framework to New England Region

CGI Group Inc. (NYSE: GIB) will provide the Commonwealth of Massachusetts with a regional flexible health insurance exchange IT framework as the business process redesign services contractor for the Collaborative Insurance Exchange Systems project.

The Commonwealth and the University of Massachusetts Medical School lead the multistate project, which is funded by Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight. New England states will be able to tailor the framework for their individual needs.

The framework will meet Affordable Care Act requirements.

“CGI has a unique perspective on how to help states through this transformation, ” said Holli Ploog, vice president of CGI. “We bring deep knowledge and insight across many disciplines from our extensive work with federal agencies, state governments and leading commercial health insurers. We are thrilled to work with the Commonwealth as they continue to trail blaze this new frontier.”

New England states include Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.
