Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has announced a series of executive moves intended to strengthen the company’s performance on high-priority programs. The moves will take effect Aug. 1, 2011.
Current mission systems and sensors unit head Orlando D. Carvalho will become vice president and deputy of the F-35 program, based in Fort Worth, Texas. Carvalho will move to the aeronautics business area and report to F-35 Executive Vice President and General Manager Larry Lawson.
Carvalho has worked at Lockheed for more than 30 years and will “provide strong support to Larry and the F-35 team in building on their high level of performance on a program that is of critical importance to the future of our country, ” said Lockheed Martin President and Chief Operating Officer Christopher E. Kubasik.
Dale P. Bennett, who currently leads the company’s global training and logistics unit, will succeed Carvalho.
