The Navy has awarded General Dynamics National Steel and Shipbuilding Co. (NYSE: GD) $744, 129, 956 to continue designing and constructing two mobile landing platform ships. General Dynamics will conduct the majority of the work in San Diego, Calif., and is expected to finish by February 2014.
The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.
