Lockheed Product Wins 2011 Edison Award

Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) was awarded a 2011 Edison Best New Product Award for its MONAX 3G wireless communications system.

“The Edison Awards are presented annually to innovative companies for products and services, and to business leaders to symbolize the persistence and excellence personified by Thomas Alva Edison, inspiring America’s drive to remain in the forefront of innovation, creativity and ingenuity in the global economy.”

The firm claimed the Bronze Award in the Applied Technology category.

“Lockheed Martin is known for innovation in the defense and aerospace industry, but to be honored among the world’s best inventors and innovators is truly special, ” said Macy Summers, Lockheed Martin Information Systems and Global Solutions-Defense vice president of Advanced Development & Ventures.  “MONAX is a unique offering for our military customers who are looking for both creative and affordable solutions.”
