SAIC Signs NIH Tech Support Deal

SAIC (NYSE: SAI) won a follow-on task order by the National Institutes of Health to provide software and technical support to the Center for Scientific Review.

The ID/IQ carries a six-month base term, nine six-month options and a ceiling of more than $24 million.

According to SAIC, the program “is the portal for NIH grant applications and their review for scientific merit. It organizes the peer review groups or study sections that evaluate the majority of the research grant applications sent to NIH. It also receives all grant applications for NIH, as well as for some other components of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.”

“We look forward to continuing our support of the CSR as it continues to enhance systems and enable a more efficient and cost effective way of conducting scientific reviews of grant applications, ” said Steve Comber, senior vice president and business unit general manager. “We take great pride in supporting the technology requirements that facilitate the peer review and research grant evaluation process which lead to advances in improving the health of our nation and world.”
