Harris Picks Up Vet Patient Registries Development Deal

Harris (NYSE:HRS) won a contract from MED Trends, Inc. for continued development of national patient registries for U.S. military veterans.

According to Harris, the firm “will maintain and improve the existing registries’ infrastructures and develop new registries based on other veteran-centric conditions.”

The deal includes a one-year base term with two option years.  Financial terms of the contract were undisclosed.

“Harris has partnered with the VHA over the last two years to establish the Registries Program by architecting the technical framework, enhancing legacy registries applications, and developing three new registries, ” said Jim Traficant, vice president and general manager, Harris Healthcare Solutions. “These registries allow the VHA to remain at the leading edge of healthcare delivery by integrating data-driven treatment practices into the clinical workflow — optimizing care and improving health outcomes for our nation’s heroes.”
