SAIC Identified as Winner of Biometrics Identity Management Agency Deal

SAIC (NYSE: SAI) won a deal with the Department of Defense’s Biometrics Identity Management Agency (BIMA) to continue work on biometric support services for the U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM).

According to the firm, “collecting and registering personnel into biometric databases is key to helping identify insurgents throughout the USCENTCOM AOR. Under the task order, SAIC will provide the U.S. military and coalition partners with biometric enrollment support at entry ports throughout Iraq. SAIC has supported biometric-enabled enrollments in the USCENTCOM AOR for the past six years.”

The task order includes a one-year base term with two option years and is valued at $23 million.

“The widespread application of biometric technologies is a game-changing tool in helping to identify and uncover insurgents and terrorists, ” said John Thomas, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager. “We have seen the value biometric enrollments provide to our military forces, and we look forward to continuing this valuable and critical support.”
