ExecutiveBiz spoke with BAE Systems CIO Bob Fecteau about the mission of the information officer:
“If you don’t create a development plan for high potential people, you’re going to be saddled with an incomplete capability when you do [transition] to the next generation, ” said Fecteau.
For Fecteau, that sense of mission comes down to one thing: Responsibility.
“I hold myself responsible — I believe it’s incumbent on a profession to train and regulate itself, ” said Fecteau. “If we don’t make sure we have [the capability] across education, business and development, then we’re going to be the victims of not having qualified people to do this function in the future.”
