Booz Allen’s Carl Salzano on Gaining Status as a ‘Best Corporation for Veteran-Owned Businesses’

Booz Allen Hamilton has been named to the National Veteran-Owned Business Association’s (NaVOBA) 10 Best Corporations for Veteran-Owned Businesses for 2010. The list honors the most successful large corporations that engage the nation’s three million veteran-owned businesses as subcontractors or suppliers.

According to the firm, “over the past five government fiscal years, Booz Allen has nearly doubled the percentage of subcontracting dollars going to veteran-owned businesses, growing from just under 7 percent in 2005 to nearly 15 percent in 2009.  The cover of the April 2010 issue of NaVOBA’s Vetrepreneur magazine features this year’s 10 honorees. Booz Allen is the only firm to have been recognized with the top ten distinction every year the award has been given.”

“This award reflects the firm’s strong commitment to the veteran community, ” said Senior Vice President Carl Salzano. “Within the firm, veterans are part of every level of our organization, and externally, they are valued business partners, ” Salzano said.
