SAIC Nabs IT Infrastructure Deal

SAIC (NYSE: SAI) was awarded a contract by the National Science Foundation (NSF) to manage the information technology (IT) infrastructure and provide a comprehensive suite of IT, voice and data telecommunications, and related services.  The deal is structured as a single-award, time and materials contract, with a one and a half month phase-in period; a one-year base period and four one-year options with a total value of more than $52 million if all options are exercised.

As part of the contract, SAIC will help NSF improve systems and database architecture, streamline data center and infrastructures processes, improve communications and collaboration, and develop a more portable, managed service provisioning model.

“SAIC is pleased to be supporting the National Science Foundation as they improve their IT infrastructure, ” said Peter Dube, SAIC senior vice president and business unit manager. “As a science and technology company, it is a great honor to be working with them on this effort.”
