SAIC announced earlier this week that it will provide a grant worth $90, 000 to the University of Oklahoma. The grant will involve several initiatives and projects focused on climate change issues and energy issues. The grant is part of the University Relations Initiative run by SAIC, which focuses on strengthening the science and technology capabilities of the company.

The grant will include an oil and gas optimization project, carbon sequestration research and a lecture series on climate change, as well as establishing the Center for Sustainable Urban Design within the School of Architecture.

J.T. Grumski, senior VP and business unit general manager, said “SAIC is a company that brings high-technology solutions to solve the nation’s most challenging problems, and universities are one of the wellsprings of innovation into which the company can tap. We are deeply committed to our relationship with the University of Oklahoma, and to the pursuit of joint research and educational initiatives that will help us meet future challenges in business and technology.”
