SAIC awarded $19 million contract from U.S. Navy


Last week, Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC) announced that it has been awarded a contract worth up to $19 million for engineering, technical and management services on autonomous undersea vehicles for the U.S. Navy. The contract has a one-year base period with four one-year options.

The work, which is to be completed at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) in Newport, R.I., consists of providing operator training and qualification, modeling and simulation, and analysis and assessment for the Autonomous Undersea Vehicle (AUV) Engineering Facility. SAIC will also offer various services such as software programming and information systems management.

SAIC vice president and business unit manager Tom Baybrook said, “We look forward to providing NUWC Newport with technically diverse capabilities that will help enhance the future development of Navy AUVs.”
