L-3 Communications to increase power levels for Army vehicles

The U.S. Army has awarded a contract to L-3 Communications to provide high-power electrical generation for the Bradley Fighting Vehicle.

The company’s Combat Propulsion Systems and Magnet Motors division is in the process of creating the Integrated Starter Generator (ISG), a system which will enable the army to increase power levels for its combat vehicle electrical systems, thus enhancing the capability of the Bradley Fighting Vehicles. It will also allow for substantially more electrical power generation, thereby increasing mission loads and offering additional integration options for high-capacity auxillary loads for the family of vehicles.
