
The Mk 13 Canister fires the Standard Missile-2, Block II and III, and the Mk 25 Canister is used to fire the Evolved SeaSparrow Missile (ESSM). The Mk 25 canister is unique because four ESSMs are stored and fired in a space normally occupied by one missile.
The contract will support the U.S. Navy as well as the governments of Japan, Germany, Spain, The Netherlands, and Australia. Contract work will be executed at the BAE Systems facility in Aberdeen, South Dakota and will be finished in May 2011.
