VSE Wins $32.8 Million Egyptian Navy Contract

VSE Corporation has announced that its International Group’s GLOBAL Division has won a contract to continue work progressing in Alexandria, Egypt.

The $32.8M In-Country Technical Assist award will allow GLOBAL Division to provide support for the Egyptian Navy FMS programs and former US Navy ships transferred to Egyptian control either in port or at sea, as necessary to support ship operations, training and maintenance.

Additionally, the contract continues funding to support an Industrial Training School, a Damage Control and Fire Fighting School, and continues support to assist the Egyptian Navy in improving their shipyard infrastructure.

A business unit of BAE Systems will drydock, maintain and modernize the USS Wasp amphibious assault ship for the U.S. Navy under a potential $237.7M contract. The company said Tuesday its Norfolk Ship Repair business in Virginia will commence work on the vessel's mechanical, tank and hull systems in February.
