Lockheed’s Savi has RFID Tracking Tags Approved by U.S. Air Force


Savi Technologies, a Lockheed Martin company, has been given the approval by the U.S. Air Force to use RFID tracking and security tags aboard all classifications of fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft that transports supplies for the Department of Defense.

The RFID tags have been previously used on U.S. Military aircraft under other certification programs. Savi Technologies was the first company to get Supplemental
Type Certification from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration for use of the RFID tracking system aboard commercial aircraft.

“U.S. Air Force certification of our broad portfolio of RFID tags extends the ability of the DoD to further automate monitoring of its supplies end-to-end across all modes of transportation.” said CEO of Savi Technology Craig Stephens.
