Oracle To Buy Integration Company GoldenGate Software

Oracle announced on Thursday that it plans to acquire the integration software vendor GoldenGate. Price details have yet to be released but Oracle hopes that the merger will be closed by the end of this year. San Francisco-based GoldenGate provides customers such as Bank of America and Comcast Corporation with software that merges data transactions from different systems in real-time. How the deal will impact current GoldenGate customers has not been announced.

Oracle’s acquisition of GoldenGate is widely believed to be in competition with IBM’s Information Server and other data-integration tools.
