DoD Awards $55.3B Worth of Tricare Contracts


The Department of Defense (DoD) has awarded TriWest Healthcare Alliance Corp, Aetna Government Health Plans, and United Health Military and Veterans Services a combined $55.3 billion worth of contracts, to provide health and administrative services for Tricare.

The DoD reported that the companies will supply provider network and referrals management, medical management, enrollment, claims processing, customer service and access to data.

United Health Military and Veterans Services’ contract is for $21 million and they will be covering the southern region of the U.S. TriWest Health Alliance will be serving the western part of the U.S. and their contract is worth $16.9 million. The Aetna contract is for $16.6 million and they will cover the northern region.
