ACS Wins $200M Contract

Affiliated Computer Sevices, Inc has received a $200 million contract from Protransporte, to design a contactless ticketing system for the Bus Rapid Transit line in Lima, Peru.

ACS will provide fleet management and ticketing solutions for the first Bus Rapid Transit line for 220 buses, which will serve over 700, 000 people per day. The company will create smart contactless cards that should considerably reduce wait time.

“This engagement demonstrates ACS’ ability to solve complex traffic and transportation issues and highlights our considerable expertise in providing efficient and effective transportation solutions to the growing traffic demands in the region, ” remarked executive vice president and president of ACS Transportation Solutions, Dave Amoriell. “Through our cashless technology solutions, ACS is making a significant difference in the lives of millions of people by making their commute more convenient, safe and efficient.”

In the next few years, the City of Lima hopes to expand to create more bus lines and ten similar ticketing solution programs.
