ACS Lands The Persian Gulf’s First Transit Ticking System

Affiliated Computer Services Inc (ACS) will supply the intelligence ticking system for the first mass transit line of the Persian Gulf. The US-based information technology solutions company opened its office in Dubai in May of this year. The contract is the first for ACS in the Gulf and will provide 100% contactless ticking solutions for 13 stations, standards set by the Dubai Roads & Transportation Authority (RTA).

ACS’s contract is with Alstom, the selected builder of the transit system by the RTA. ACS will provide ticking solutions for buses, metros, trams and water buses as well as bilingual equipment both in English and in Arabic. The system is scheduled for completion in early 2011.

“This engagement will showcase ACS’ transportation solutions in the Gulf and provide the region with an intelligent system that responds to the daily congestion demands while also offering efficient transportation services, ” commented ACS’s Patrice Vincendeau, “Our team has implemented intelligent and sophisticated systems around the world and made a difference in the lives of millions of people by helping them move quicker and more efficiently.”
