Vangent Wins $15 Million Open Season Services Contract From U.S. Office of Personnel Management

Vangent, Inc., a multinational provider of information management and strategic business process outsourcing, announced today it was awarded a contract from the U.S. Office of Personnel Management to provide Open Season Services as part of the Federal Employee Health Benefits (FEHB) Program, extending Vangent’s 24-year partnership with the agency.

The contract, valued at $15 million over five years, is to provide a range of services in support of the FEHB Open Season, through which federal employees and annuitants have the opportunity to change their health plan options and enrollments. The U.S. OPM administers the health and life insurance benefits for federal annuitants and survivors under the Civil Service Retirement and the Federal Employees Retirement systems via the FEHB, the largest voluntary employer-sponsored health benefits insurance program in the world, which covers about 9 million individuals.

Vangent will process enrollment changes and information requests and provide the associated information to OPM and various health plans.  It will also provide management information system data and regular reports to the OPM and receive and transmit encrypted data electronically. In addition, Vangent will supply an end-to-end CRM solution by developing, managing, and staffing a call center to respond to annuitants’ inquiries.

Mac Curtis, president and CEO of Vangent, Inc. said “Vangent is utilizing much of its expertise to provide these open season services for the FEHB Program that will make open enrollment easier for federal workers and their families.” He continued, “Vangent is excited to continue our outstanding service to our nation’s federal employees and retirees, while also further developing our longstanding relationship with the OPM and the Open Season Program.”
