AM General Awarded $428M Army Contract for M997A3 Ambulance


M997A3 ambulanceAM General has secured a potential six-year, $428.3 million contract to provide the Army with M997A3-configured ambulances.

The service branch, Army National Guard and Army Reserve will use the ambulance for disaster relief operations across the country, the Defense Department said Friday.

The M997A3 is a multi-wheeled Humvee ground vehicle that has improved cabin LED lighting systems, upgraded drive train and a rear control panel for air-conditioning and heating systems.

The Indiana-based company will perform work through Sept. 4, 2021, under the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract.

The Army Contracting Command awarded the firm-fixed-price contract through competitive procurement via the Internet and will announce the location and funding upon award of each task order.
