3 Firms Awarded DHS R&D Work on Authentication Tech for Mobile


mobile-securityTYSONS CORNER, VA August 17, 2015 — The Department of Homeland Security has awarded HRL Laboratories, Northrop Grumman and United Technologies Research Center contracts worth nearly $5 million to research and develop a secure authentication tool for mobile devices, ExecutiveBiz reported Friday.

FedScoop said the DHS Science and Technology directorate cybersecurity division has tasked the companies to each work on a type of system: a behavior anomaly detector, a context-aware authenticator and a user behavior tracker based on machine learning capabilities.
