Engility to Build, Test Navy Shipboard Electronics; Tony Smeraglinolo Comments

Engility Holdings (NYSE: EGL) has been awarded a $42.9 million contract to design and evaluate shipboard and shore-based electronic systems for the U.S. Navy.

The contract contains a one-year base period and two option years and covers work in areas such as system engineering, prototype and testing,  Engility said Wednesday.

“We appreciate the confidence our U.S. Navy customer places in our work and we welcome the opportunity to support these mission critical Naval Aviation programs, ” said Tony Smeraglinolo,  Engility president and CEO.

The U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command and Army Forces Strategic Command awarded the contract in support of the Naval Air Warfare Center’s aircraft division.
