Greg Hill, formerly chief of staff at the House Homeland Security Committee, has been named principal at The Chertoff Group and partner at TCG Capital Partners, the security advisory company’s investment vehicle.
Hill will provide clients with advice on business growth and expansion strategy in the national security market and support threat identification and reduction measures, The Chertoff Group said Monday.
“Greg brings a unique understanding of today’s security threats, as well as a proven track record as a corporate executive and he possesses the business acumen to help our clients achieve their desired results, ” said Michael Chertoff, the group’s chairman and co-founder.
Meanwhile, CEO and co-founder Chad Sweet cited Hill’s national security policy background and homeland security experience as vital to the business.
Sweet added that Hill has experience in border protection, transportation, immigration and cybersecurity.
Hill worked in public service for more than 10 years, most recently on House oversight for the Department of Homeland Security and legislation on security issues such as counterterrorism, infrastructure protection and emergency preparedness.
He had also been chief of staff to Reps. Steve Pearce and Michael McCaul and deputy assistant secretary in the Office for Intergovernmental and Congressional Relations at the Department of Housing & Urban Affairs.
The Chertoff Group said Hill also brings his experience in financial services having worked for Merrill Lynch and Company and The Hartford Financial Services Group.
