Mike Bowers, formerly chief operating officer at Indus Corp. since 2008, has taken on the role of president at Xerox Federal Solutions (NYSE: XRX), GovCon Wire has learned.

The more than 27-year industry veteran spent nearly 15 years at Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAIC) earlier in his career, where he elevated to senior vice president and general manager of the enterprise services business unit.

Bowers has also served as SVP and GM of Vangent‘s health solutions business and has led Agilex Technologies‘ civilian sector as president.

“One of the big things we see… is folks looking for transparency of accessibility to their data and being able to share not only within the agency itself but with the public,” Bowers told our sister site GovConExecutive in 2010.

He began his career at Advanced Technology Inc. as a program director in 1984.

Bowers holds an M.B.A. in information systems management from George Washington University and a bachelor’s degree in the German language from the University of North Carolina in Asheville.
