USCIS Plans Reverse Auction for General Dynamics Secure Phone

SmartphoneU.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services has issued a solicitation for a potential $25 million contract to acquire General Dynamics-built (NYSE: GD) secure phones.

FedBid will serve as reverse auction provider for USCIS, which plans to acquire the Sectera vIPer phones under a small business set-aside, the DHS said Friday.

FedBid has developed an online application that will work to facilitate the reverse auction, the agency says.

USCIS requires that the phones be able to secure top secret information and operate with existing government secure phones.

The agency also wants the phones to have an analog and Internet protocol connectivity feature, a built-in security feature and CryptoMod-compliant technology.
