SAIC Appoints New CEO to Frederick, Inc.

SAIC (NYSE: SAI) has announced the appointment of Dr. David Heimbrook as chief executive officer of the firm’s subsidiary Frederick, Inc. Heimbrook will be responsible for the management and oversight of all scientific and business activities conducted on the contract.

The new CEO will lead SAIC-Frederick’s workforce of 2, 000 scientific, technical, and support professionals who perform basic and applied research in cancer and AIDS. Frederick, Inc. provides operations and technical support to the National Cancer Institute’s Federally Funded Research and Development Center.

“Looking forward, we are confident Dave’s extensive knowledge and experience in the national healthcare and scientific research community will be of tremendous benefit to the important work SAIC is providing for NCI’s world-class research facility, ” said Joe Craver, president of SAIC’s Health, Energy and Civil Solutions Group. “He has an outstanding track record of managing research organizations, and I anticipate he will deliver exceptional service and leadership to NCI and our employees.”

Heimbrook’s more than 20 years’ experience in cancer research include a role as the global head of discovery for the Oncology and Discovery and Translation area of Hoffman-LaRoche, Inc.
