Brett Mencin has taken on new responsibilities as president of enterprise vetting and analysis at Xcelerate Solutions.
The executive confirmed his appointment in a recent LinkedIn post. He will also continue to serve as chief security officer of the defense and national security company, a role he has held since 2024.
As president, he will spearhead efforts to ensure the continued growth of the company’s diverse portfolio supporting the Department of Homeland Security, the FBI, the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency, the U.S. Army, the Office of Management and Budget, and other intelligence and federal agencies.
Who Is Brett Mencin?
Mencin joined Xcelerate in 2013 as an account manager. He later assumed the role of vice president of personnel security programs at the company. His most recent role is as CSO and vice president of enterprise vetting and analysis.
Prior to Xcelerate, Mencin was a program manager for Amyx, a subsidiary of Tetra Tech delivering acquisition support, system engineering and implementation, enterprise architecture and business process transformation services.
His career also includes positions at IBM, University of Colorado Boulder and Grubb & Ellis.
How Has Xcelerate Expanded Its Capabilities and Footprint?
Mencin’s expanded leadership role comes as Xcelerate continues a period of significant growth through acquisitions and infrastructure investments.
In September 2025, Xcelerate completed its acquisition of General Dynamics Information Technology’s background investigation assets, transitioning personnel, contracts and systems to support customers across the DHS, the Pentagon and the intelligence community. The company said the deal strengthened its ability to deliver background investigations and security platforms aligned with Trusted Workforce 2.0.
Xcelerate also acquired software development company clearAvenue in October 2025 to bolster its artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities for federal customers. The transaction brought advanced software development, big data analytics and cloud expertise into Xcelerate’s portfolio.
Additionally, the defense and national security firm has also expanded its physical footprint. In November, Xcelerate nearly tripled the size of its headquarters in Tysons, Virginia, growing from 7,759 square feet to more than 23,000 square feet to accommodate workforce growth and expanded operations.
