VTG has been awarded a potential five-year, $188 million contract to help the U.S. Navy modernize surface fleet combat systems as part of the service branch’s Technical Insertion 16 program.
The Naval Surface Warfare Center’s Port Hueneme Division awarded the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract covering TI16 procurement, engineering, installation and sustainment services, the company said Wednesday.
John Hassoun, president and CEO of VTG, said the award extends the company’s work with Naval Sea Systems Command in fleet modernization efforts.
The T116 program is intended to equip the Navy’s ship weapons, including the Aegis Combat System, with new open architecture and other commercial off-the-shelf technology.
Chantilly, Virginia-based VTG is also developing a digital platform for integration into naval operations under a three-year, $13 million contract from the service branch.
