Voyager Space Holdings has moved to acquire Altius Space Machines, a Denver-based company that aims to develop on-orbit servicing platforms with robotic technology, for an undisclosed amount.
The transaction is subject to customary closing terms and will be Voyager’s first acquisition since launching itself three weeks ago, the company said Thursday.
Altius seeks to help customers manage, upgrade and repair satellites as well as to offer active debris removal, assistive telerobotics, heliogyro solar sails and propellant transfer services.
“We’ve seen a transition in the last few years where large satellite operators are looking for new ways to maximize the lifespan of their space-based assets,” said Matthew Kuta, president and chief operating officer of Voyager.
Kuta added the holding company looks to support Altius’ efforts to expand operations and address a demand for space technology and service offerings.
