ViON has received a potential 10-year, $170.9 million contract to supply chip sets for the Defense Information Systems Agency to use IBM-built (NYSE: IBM) servers.
Under the contract, ViON will provide System P computer chips for the Power Systems server platform at multiple DISA facilities on an on-demand basis, the company said Wednesday.
Power Systems is designed to have data visualization, cloud computing and artificial intelligence configurations.
“ViON has been a technology and services partner for DISA since 2007 and we are pleased to expand our relationship and provide on-demand processing power for DISA,” said Tom Frana, CEO and chairman of ViON.
