Unisys (NYSE: UIS) has secured a potential three-year, $76M contract to help the U.S. Air Force manage laptop and desktop computers and mobile devices.
The company said Tuesday it will provide digital workplace services in an effort to simplify information technology and device management processes at eight USAF installations as part of the Enterprise Information Technology as a Service contract.
Andrew Boyd, group vice president for defense and intelligence agencies at Unisys’ federal business, said the company aims to bring commercial technology platforms to help the military branch manage IT support services.
The project will include establishing a cloud-based system, implementing a self-service portal and a call management platform and automating security of end-user devices.
The contract has a 12-month base period, followed by two one-year options. Work will take place at seven military bases located in the U.S. and one facility in Germany.
