Tyler Technologies Buys Veterans Claims Management Software Company DataSpec; Lynn Moore Quoted

Tyler Technologies (NYSE: TYL), a Plano, Texas-based public sector software provider, has purchased DataSpec for an undisclosed sum as part of efforts to expand its software offerings for managing veterans’ benefits.

“DataSpec is a good fit with Tyler’s acquisition philosophy, which includes adding best-of-breed companies and products that complement our current offerings,” Lynn Moore, president and CEO of Tyler, said in a statement published Wednesday.

Moore added that the acquisition allows Tyler to gain access to DataSpec’s client base and provide them with its veterans’ claims management platform.

DataSpec offers VetraSpec, a software-as-a-service system that offers reporting capabilities and facilitates electronic submission of claims to the Department of Veterans Affairs. The company, which was formed by Tina Roff and Ann Graham in 2007, has more than 5,000 users across the U.S., including 32 VA state departments, veteran’s service organizations, counties and municipalities.

Through the transaction, Tyler offers VetraSpec clients an opportunity to migrate to its Veterans Benefits system, which is based on the company’s Entellitrak low-code application development platform.
